The Hadcroft on Grange Road closed its doors on Monday to allow for the refurbishment, which owners Marston's said would cost £347,900 and would revitalise the community pub.

The work will see the Hadcroft reopen on March 11 as a Marston's Two Door Pub, a concept which features two distinct areas in a vibrant locals' bar and a warm, welcoming family lounge, designed around the needs of families.

A central partition will create distinct spaces within the pub and will introduce a dedicated Family Lounge, designed to cater to the needs of all ages and provide a space for the whole family.

Alongside this, guests can also enjoy a menu packed with comforting pub favourites, which will remain available post-refurb, while the kids’ menu will also return, featuring smaller portions of pub favourites for children over five, as well as a “build-your-own” option for under-fives.

The renovation will also see the creation of a brand-new bar area with HD screens showing Sky Sports, featuring key sporting fixtures.

A spokesman for Marston's said: "Designed as a welcoming space for locals to enjoy a pint and a bite to eat, the Hadcroft is the perfect spot to celebrate unmissable moments at the heart of the community.

"Located in the suburban town of Stourbridge, the Hadcroft is a family-friendly pub perfectly situated for guests to enjoy quality time with family and friends, and enjoy a drink and some food after doing a bit of shopping at Merry Hill Shopping Centre, or taking a scenic walk around the Saltwells Nature Reserve."

General Manager, Jill Harrison, said: "We’re thrilled to share the news about the transformation of the Hadcroft, creating a welcoming space for our community to enjoy for any occasion.

"From grabbing a quick drink at the bar to catching up with friends, or savouring a family meal together, there’s truly something for everyone."
