I tried out the new dishes created by a popular Wolverhampton Bengali restaurant to help people make the most of their Veganuary
The start of a new year can be a time to make a change and do something different.
That can be through starting a new exercise routine, cutting down on the drink or changing the diet to eating less meat or fat.
A modern concept for people looking to change their eating habits has been the idea of “Veganuary”, which basically means a month of living on a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Restaurants have started to cotton on to the concept, with making cooking up vegan and vegetarian versions of established dishes, partly with a motive of bringing people in to eat during a quiet month, but also to test themselves and their chefs.

One restaurant which has looked at the idea and created a number of special dishes is the Bilash Restaurant in Wolverhampton.
The Michelin-rated restaurant on Cheapside in the city centre has been a firm and established part of the culinary scene in Wolverhampton for more than 40 years, and owner Mo Khan has looked at ways to expand the offerings of the restaurant to attract more people in.
To this end, the restaurant will be including new and exclusive items on the menu each month, all with a theme specific to that month.
The first offering, which ties in with the idea of Veganuary, is a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, all cooked with home-grown and quality ingredients.
