The pubs of the region are more than just places for people to go to eat and drink.

They are community hubs, places where people can experience a warm and friendly welcome from everyone inside and make new friends instantly.

The buildings themselves are a real mixture, from traditional boozers which have barely changed over the centuries to newly renovated pubs offering coffee and cake to gastropubs offering a mouth-watering selection of meals.

As the year comes to an end, we've looked over the last year at the pubs featured in our Love Your Local series and picked out 27 photos that showcase the pubs of the Black Country, Staffordshire, Wyre Forest and beyond in their best light.
