The Spotted Cow on Wolverhampton Road in Bloxwich is set to officially reopen on Friday, December 19 following an investment of more than £390,000 by Proper Pubs, the wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns.

Behind the bar is Zac Peate, who brings more than 13 years of experience within the hospitality industry to The Spotted Cow.

Inside, the pub has been completely transformed to include brand new flooring, fixtures, fittings and furniture throughout as well as five flat screen televisions throughout and a designated sports area with a new pool table and two dart boards.

Outside are new lighting and signage to greet customers, a spacious beer garden seating more than 100 people and a large television screen.

To celebrate reopening the pub will host an evening of live entertainment, including a special performance from local DJ DeeJay0213 from 9pm onwards on December 19.

The Spotted Cow will offer a wide range of drinks promotions, including Wine Wednesday, where customers can get £2 off a bottle, Fizz Friday, offering customers a bottle of fizz for £10, along with cocktails, bottle and shot deals throughout the week.

Zac Peate said: “I’m absolutely thrilled with how the refurbishment is progressing so far and I’m looking forward to welcoming customers back through the doors in a couple of weeks.

"I’d like to thank everyone, in particular the team at Proper Pubs, for all their support in helping me to bring this transformation to life”.

Mr Peate will host a busy schedule of entertainment for customers to enjoy, including regular live music every Friday and Saturday from 9pm onwards. He plans to set up darts, pool and dominoes teams as well as regular quiz and bingo nights.

In addition, the pub will support community initiatives, including by collecting food to donate to the local food bank, and Mr Peate said he will be raising money to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed.

In the future, he said he hopes to host a series of charity events in aid of a different cause each month, initially raising money for men’s mental health charity Andy's Man Club, and social justice charity St Giles.

Matt Gurney, operations director for Proper Pubs, said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Zac to The Spotted Cow, and I look forward to seeing his passion and commitment in action.

"I know that this, combined with his extensive hospitality experience will enable him to create a thriving community pub where everyone feels welcome.

"On behalf of myself and the whole team at Proper Pubs, I wish him the very best of luck with the grand reopening.”
