We visited a Wolverhampton village pub which has a long family connection with the managers and has become a true community venue
It's a pub run by a family in a Wolverhampton village with a long history and association with it and who have worked to make it a fun and friendly place to come for a drink, a chat and a laugh.
Sometimes, a pub can thrive and become a proper place to go to if the people running it are familiar with it and have their own ideas of how to run it and make it a must-see place to go.
It's an advantageous thing for a pub to have people running it who have been customers or staff in the past and have the nous and determination to recreate it in their own image and to make it a success.

One example of this concept working is the The Swan in Tettenhall, a pub which has stood within the area since the 18th century, having started life as a coaching inn and which sits in a prominent place on Lower Street, visible to traffic heading towards or from Bilbrook, Codsall and Aldersley.
It has been run by Steve and Jodie Garratt and Rob and Wendy Charlesworth for a year, with Rob saying that the group had all enjoyed long histories with the Swan and, in his case, a meeting which changed his life.
He said: "The main licensees are Steve and Jodie, who is our daughter, and we're all together as the management team and have close connections to the pub as Steve's managed it before and Wendy was the assistant manager, plus I met her here 20 years ago.
