Restaurants and takeaways in Black Country, Staffordshire and Wyre Forest named among top eateries in England

West Midlands restaurants and takeaways have been acknowledged for their hard work and dedication in a national awards scheme.

The different eateries were recognised in a number of award categories at the Food Awards England.

Awards organisers Oceanic Awards said the awards look to honour the talent, dedication, and passion displayed by restaurants, chefs, eateries, suppliers, and various food establishments across England.

The awards ceremony saw some of the country’s top professionals come together to celebrate each other’s accomplishments and the food industry as a whole.

There were 23 award categories, with 13 split into North, Midlands and South categories, including Restaurant of the Year, Café/Bistro of the Year, Gastro Pub of the Year, Best Fish N’ Chips Establishment and Best Italian Establishment, and the awards were for an overall winner, as well as Outstanding Achievement and Recognised for Excellence.

Among the restaurants and eateries in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Wyre Forest, there were nine named as award category winners across eight awards.

Three restaurants in Wolverhampton enjoyed success, with Dosa Hut named Restaurant of the Year (Midlands), Nutmeg being Recognised for Excellence for Café/Bistro of the Year (Midlands) and Fiume Italian Bar & Restaurant named Best Italian Establishment (Midlands).

Elsewhere, The Vine Inn in Stourbridge was Recognised for Excellence for Gastro Pub of the Year (Midlands), while Bobbo’s Today’s Catch in Rowley Regis was given Outstanding Achievement for Takeaway of the Year (Midlands) and A La Mexicana Authentic Mexican Food in Smethwick won Best Mexican Establishment (Midlands).

Finally, two Staffordshire hotel restaurants were recognised in the Hotel Restaurant of the Year (Midlands) category, with The Moat House Hotel in Stafford receiving Outstanding Achievement and Stone House Hotel Recognised for Excellence, while Wall 2 Wall in Kidderminster was Recognised for Excellence for Best Street Food.
