Wolverhampton charity ready to host big coffee afternoon and community fair for cancer charity
A city charity is getting ready to welcome the community for an afternoon of coffee and cake to support a major cancer charity.

Secret Angels CIC will be holding its annual Macmillan Coffee Afternoon fundraiser, now rebranded as The BIG Macmillan Coffee Afternoon and Community Fair, on Saturday from 12.30pm to 4.30pm at Dunstall Hill Community Centre in Wolverhampton.
The event will feature tea, coffee, pink tea, karak chai & bubble tea, cakes and hot food, face painting, games and community stalls.
The event raised £6,057.70 in 2024, bringing the grand total to £24,057.70 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Secret Angels said it was looking forward to uniting the community to support people living with cancer and their families.
Alvina Ali for Secret Angels CIC said: “Every year, our community comes together with love, kindness, and generosity to support those affected by cancer.
"The Big Macmillan Coffee Afternoon and Community Fair isn’t just about raising funds, it’s about raising hope, awareness, and unity.
"We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and with everyone’s support, we know we can make this year’s event the biggest yet.”

Carmen Watson, Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands, will be attending the event to show her continued support for community-led initiatives that make a real difference across Wolverhampton, while Wolverhampton West MP Warinder Juss will be joined by his colleagues Calvin Bissitt and Jules Singh.
John Harrison, Relationship Fundraising Manager, Macmillan Cancer Support (West Midlands), said: "We are so thankful to Secret Angels for hosting a Coffee Afternoon to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
"This year marks 35 years of the fundraiser, and with almost 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, your support matters more than ever.
"Funds raised help us on our mission to ensure everyone affected by cancer has access to the care they need, no matter who they are or where they live.
"Every single Coffee Morning or Afternoon takes us one step closer to better cancer care, so why not get involved and raise a little or a lot to help even more people living with cancer."
Funds raised from the fair will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping provide vital services, emotional care, and practical assistance to people affected by cancer in Wolverhampton
