Popular Stourbridge brewery taproom set to celebrate Bavarian culture, food and drink with Oktoberfest fun
It's set to be two days of fun, food and beer as Stourbridge's Green Duck Beer Co. welcomes the community to its own Oktoberfest celebration.
The popular brewery has transformed its taproom on Rufford Road in Stourbridge into a full-scale bierkeller for the Oktoberfest celebrations.
Starting today (Friday, October 3) from 4pm to 11pm and then continuing on Saturday from 1pm to 11pm, the event will be a celebration of Bavarian culture - with a Black Country twist.
Oktoberfest has been a popular feature of the social calendar at Green Duck since it opened in 2012, with owner Alex Hill saying the beer and camaraderie was what made it such a popular event.
He said: "It's obviously the beer which lends it so well to Oktoberfest, but the main thing for us is that when the taproom was created, we had it set up with the bierkeller-style tables and long benches, so that people could talk to each other as friends or with strangers.
"They can share stories and drinks and all that sort of stuff and the venue itself lays itself out massively for Oktoberfest."

Green Duck has produced its own Bavarian beer to celebrate: a one-off special called Quackenbrau, a German-style dark lager with a hint of fruitiness from the roasted malt, as well as bringing in some authentic German lagers.
Mr Hill said: "There will be German food cooked by people from Germany, as we've imported both from there, as well as live music on both days from All Due Respect on Friday and Eastwood on Saturday.
"There will be lots of good beer and loads of food, plus we're going to bedeck the place in Oktoberfest decorations, plus there will be a few freebies and giveaways for people.
"All in all, it's going to be a great few days and we're looking forward to welcoming people down."
