Sadness among regulars and fans of Kingswinford micro-pub after sudden closure
There has been shock and surprise among regulars at a Kingswinford high street micropub after its sudden closure was announced.
Ale Hub Kingswinford had been on Market Street in Kingswinford for three years, having been built on the site of the former Ladbrokes, but announced on Tuesday morning that it would be closing with immediate effect, citing the current financial climate for its decision.
The statement read: "Unfortunately, we will be closing with immediate effect due to the difficult financial climate.
"Thank you for your support over the past three years, we are sorry to be leaving."
The pub had been rated one of the best in the country by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), with it being included in the Good Beer Guide 2025.
The entry in the guide read: "Serves three beers including two ever-changing guest beers and at least one cider.
"A number of KeyKeg products and craft cans are also available plus one real cider. The pub is friendly, has a real customer mix and dogs are welcome as are children until 6pm.
"Weekly quiz and bingo nights are held."

The sudden closure of the pub was met with surprise, shock and sadness on social media, with many people offering thanks to the landlord Ashley and the staff for their time running the pub.
David Luker said: "Gutted to hear this.
"Good luck to Ashley and his team. I’ve had some good times and met lots of new people whilst running the open mic over the last 18 months. Sad day."
Ian Corns said: "Sad news, many thanks to Ash and the team, always well looked after and loved my early Friday evenings.
"Good luck to all moving on."
Luna Gennard said: "Sorry to hear this. Always popped in when visiting the Kingswinford area.
"Hope you all find work elsewhere."
Nicola Platt said: "Really sorry to hear this. The Ale Hub was such a lovely place to go for a drink and a relaxing evening with a great atmosphere.
"Seemed perfect for Kingswinford, a little gem with fantastic staff and events.
"You will be sorely missed but thank you for the memories and good luck for the future."

Eddie Smith said: "Oh no, so sorry to hear this.
"We were not regulars, but always had a great time when ever we popped in.
"You will be missed from the high Street. Good luck with whatever the future brings."
Ale Hub is a family-run company which still has pubs in Sutton Coldfield, Warwick, Perton, Dickens Heath, Shirley, Worcester and Droitwich.
Ale Hub has been contacted for a comment. It did put a message on social media to advertise the business.
The message read: "Business for sale to suit owner operators - Fully furnished ready to go. Free of tie. 18 months left on current lease.
"Please send an email to info@alehub.co.uk with your email and phone number if you are interested and for current financial performance.
"We are seeking offers over £6000 to take over the lease. Open to offers on fixtures and fittings."
