Kebab lovers across West Midlands invited to nominate their favourite restaurants and takeaways for prestigious national awards
Fans of shwarma, kofte, donner, shish and tikka kebabs are being invited to nominate their favourite restaurants and takeaways for the chance to win a prestigious national award.
The British Kebab Awards are looking for the best takeaways, restaurants, suppliers, chefs and all other types of kebab businesses for the 14th edition of the awards, which will be named next year.
Four takeaways and restaurants from the West Midlands were among the shortlisted finalists for the 13th edition of the awards, with two Mr Souvlaki restaurants in Birmingham and Stourbridge shortlisted for the best Greek restaurant or takeaway, Meze Turkish Mediterranean & Grill in Cannock shortlisted for the Best Kebab Restaurant Regional and Mount Nemrut Turkish Restaurant in Smethwick a finalist for the Customer Satisfaction award.
The awards are judged by a full independent panel spread across politics, television, journalism and the food industry and nominations can be made for a number of categories.

These include Best Delivery, Best Greek Restaurant And/Or Takeaway, Best Kebab Restaurant Regional, Best Kosher Shawarma Restaurant And/Or Takeaway, Best Lebanese Restaurant And/Or Takeaway, Best Newcomer Restaurant In London/Outside London, Best Takeaway Regional, Best Value Restaurant, Best Vegan Kebab (Restaurant Or Takeaway), Chef Of The Year, Customer Satisfaction, Fine Dining Restaurant, Kebab Van Of The Year and Supplier And Manufacturer Award.
The deadline for making nominations is Monday, September 1, with the semi-finalists being revealed at a special reception in Parliament on Monday, September 15.
