Celebrity television personality and author join line-up for Lichfield Food & Drink Festival

A popular celebrity chef and personality will be the headline act on the main stage of the Lichfield Food & Drink festival.

Lichfield Council has announced that the renowned chef, television personality and author Rosemary Shrager will headline the Festival Flavour Stage at the festival, taking place across the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 23 to 25).

Rosemary will take to the stage in The Hub at St Mary’s for a series of four live cooking demonstrations across Sunday and Monday.

Best known for her appearances on Ladette to Lady, The Big Family Cooking Showdown, and I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, she will bring her trademark culinary flair, warmth and wit to the heart of Lichfield. 

The all-new Festival Flavour Stage promises a vibrant programme of demos and tastings, blending celebrity appeal with local talent. 

Rosemary Shrager said: “Food brings people together, and festivals like Lichfield’s are the perfect way to inspire cooks of all ages. 

"I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves, having some fun, and showing that delicious, seasonal food can be simple and joyful.”

Ruth Redgate, President of Lichfield Chamber of Trade & Commerce and curator of the new Festival Flavour Stage, said: “I’m so excited to help bring the Festival Flavour Stage to this year’s food and drink festival. 

"Welcoming Rosemary Shrager to Lichfield is the icing on the cake, her energy and love of food are infectious, and I know she’ll inspire both visitors and participants alike.”

Leader of Lichfield Council, Councillor Doug Pullen, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Rosemary Shrager to this year’s festival. 

"We are very grateful for her support and for our partners’ energy and commitment in making the festival happen.”

The Festival Flavour Stage is being provided free of charge, with The Hub at St Mary’s providing the venue and Leafbone Ltd sponsoring the stage. Further details and timings will be shared in the coming weeks.

This year’s Lichfield Food & Drink Festival will see 100 stalls pop up across the city centre, offering handmade gifts, street food, sweet treats and handcrafted drinks and creating a family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
