'I fulfilled my dream to open a women's clothing shop in Cannock - now I help women of all ages find clothes they love'
Julie Cassidy is passionate about helping women of all ages to find flattering, comfortable and stylish clothes they love to wear.
Her shop, Do Re Mi Boutique & Homeware, opened in High Green Court, Cannock, on October 24 last year.
"It was something that I had always wanted to do, I had never had my own shop before. I spent nine months thinking about it and I did a lot of research. This shop came up and I thought 'I’m going to have a go',” says Julie, who previously worked in an accounts office and in sales.
“It’s been great. It’s been more than I ever expected. I’ve worked hard, put everything into it and it’s been a success,” she adds.
The shop’s name was partly inspired by one of Julie’s favourite films, The Sound of Music. “The name was also inspired by having a large family which often has the nickname The Von Trapps,” she explains.

Catering for all ages, shapes and sizes, she stocks pieces from brands including Robell Trousers, Goose Island and Malissa J. New suppliers on the way include Soya Concept and B.Young. There is also a wide range of accessories, such as shoes, jewellery, including Envy and Sarah Tempest, bags and scarves to add the finishing touches to an outfit.
Shoppers will also find a selection of items for the home, such as Edge glassware, Malini cushions, Soake Umbrellas, diffusers and jewellery boxes, as well as greetings cards.
