Lye's Railway Inn closed for revamp which bosses promise will make it 'a great quality family-friendly local'
Pub bosses have confirmed The Railway Inn in Lye will re-open next month after a revamp which aims to make it a “quality family-friendly local” with a focus on sport and entertainment.
The pub in Pedmore Road, near Stourbridge, has temporarily closed while Star Pubs gives the boozer a makeover to make it more enticing for sports fans.

The cellar will also have an upgrade while the business is closed for the next few weeks.
It is expected to re-open in mid-September with a new operator at the helm.
A spokesperson for Star Pubs said: “The Railway Inn on Pedmore Road is currently closed whilst we make a number of improvements to the facilities, although we are not undertaking a full refurbishment. The changes will upgrade the pub into a great quality family-friendly local that specialises in sports and entertainment. The pub will reopen by mid-September.
“With sports enthusiasts in mind, we’re installing a high spec AV system and Sky Q so that The Railway can show all the sports. A new darts board and pool table are going in to accommodate regional pub teams and The Railway Inn is recruiting for players.
“Food is being introduced for the pub’s relaunch. The new menu will focus on popular classics, such as fish and chips, burgers and Sunday roasts, and will have plenty of popular options for children.
“The cellar is also being overhauled with a state-of-the-art dispense system to ensure consistently perfect pints, and there will be an extended drinks selection including cocktails.
“In the plans, too, is a new programme of events and activities with details to be announced when The Railway Inns reopens.”
