West Midlands Safari Park honoured at multiple nominations for Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards
The region's largest safari park has spoken of the honour of it being recognised with nominations for several categories for a major tourism and business awards event.
West Midlands Safari Park has been shortlisted for five categories in the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards, the biggest tourism and business award in the county.
The Safari Park near Bewdley has been shortlisted for the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award, the Business Events Venue of the Year, Experience of the Year, Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Worcestershire's Unsung Hero Award for the head of wildlife Angela Potter.
Joanne Hammick, Managing Director at West Midlands Safari Park, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted in five categories at the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 2026.
"These nominations recognise the breadth of what we do at West Midlands Safari Park, from creating accessible and inclusive experiences, to delivering standout visitor offerings, unique overnight stays and high-quality business events.

"We’re particularly proud to see Angela Potter, our Head of Wildlife, shortlisted for Worcestershire’s Unsung Hero Award, which reflects her exceptional dedication to animal welfare and conservation.
"Being recognised alongside so many fantastic Worcestershire businesses is a real credit to the hard work and passion of our entire team.”
The awards ceremony on March 20 will take place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, with organiser saying the awards recognise outstanding achievements across the local tourism sector, shining a spotlight on excellence, innovation and dedication.
Councillor Alan Amos, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Business and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards are always a real highlight of the year, celebrating the outstanding businesses and people who help make our county such a fantastic place to visit.

“I’m delighted that Acorns Children’s Hospice has been chosen as the official charity partner. It is a truly deserving organisation, providing vital care and support for local children and their families across Worcestershire.
"I’m very much looking forward to an evening of celebration, recognising the hard work and dedication that continue to drive our tourism sector forward.”
The event will also support an important local cause, with Acorns Children’s Hospice announced as the official charity partner.
Mel Hall, Area Fundraiser for Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “It is a privilege to be supported by the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards so a huge thank you for selecting us as this year’s charity partner.
“The support we receive from the local community is vital. Not only do we provide lifeline care for children with life-limiting conditions, but we are dedicated to creating special memories, something that also resonates within the local tourism sector.

Other award nominees include Lakeside Adventures from Hartlebury for New Tourism Business of the Year and Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, Hopley's Family Camping in Bewdley being shortlisted for Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year, Severn Valley Railway for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, Astley Vineyard in Stourport for Regenerative Tourism Award, Forest View Retreat Limited in Bewdley for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year and Rachel Dutton, Volunteer at Hartlebury Castle Trust, for Worcestershire’s Unsung Hero Award.
