Ghoul masks, an owls and store keepers in fancy dress were all the rage and made for a fun atmosphere at the annual event organised to drum up town centre trade and provide an attraction as half-term draws to a close.

Despite the damp weather the programme on Friday afternoon drew an enthusiastic crowd to Stafford's Market Square. Attractions included performances by Happy Vibes, The Blonnettes, The Noughtie Boys, Kenyon Walker and Dappa Dance. There was a fancy dress competition and plenty of refreshments including street food.
And the town's historic Ancient High House museum in Greengate Street was also open for visitors.
Participating pubs and bars included Ye Olde Rose & Crown, The Doghouse, The Bear Stafford, The Lamb, The Coach & Horses, The Grapes, The Market Vaults, The Shrewsbury Arms, and The Pickled Pig,The Empourium, The Lamb, and Vine Hotel & Pub.
The party was sponsored by Carthy Accountants, Casa, M&M Legal, Top of the World and Robert Nicholls Funeral Directors. The event also received a funding boost from County Council’s Community Fund.

The Tudor design Ancient High House is the largest remaining timber framed town house in England. King Charles I stayed there in 1642 on route to Shrewsbury, and the house retains an extensive collection of period furniture and architectural features. It is also the home of the Staffordshire Yeomanry Museum.
It was built in around 1595 for the wealthy Dorrington family.
The next Stafford Music and Food event will be the town's winter Wonderland Tinsel & Treats on December 6 from 11am-3.30pm.
