'I'm chasing my dreams by setting up my own business creating bespoke Maiyan furniture in the West Midlands - and I do stand-up comedy in my spare time'
It’s fair to say Sunny Paul is a busy man. When the 37-year-old is not at his full-time job, he is running his own furniture business, hosting his own podcast or making audiences laugh with his stand-up comedy.
The father-of-three from Wolverhampton has been on a mission to follow his dreams after losing a family member.
“It started when my grandmother passed away. It woke me up and I realised that life is too short not to do what you want to do,” says the 37-year-old.
He had always wanted to start his own business and inspiration came to him when he was making preparations for his wedding in 2017.
A Maiyan ceremony is a traditional part of the celebrations for Sikh and Punjabi weddings, preparing the bride and groom for their wedding day.
For this symbolic cleansing ritual, they will sit on a low wooden stool while a turmeric paste is applied to their skin by their loved ones as a blessing.

Sunny decided to make his own seat utilising the woodworking skills he had picked up from his carpenter father.
