Tettenhall pool to officially open soon as residents warned it is still undergoing tests - here's when you can cool off
The beloved Tettenhall pool is due to open this week - as long as it passes all the checks.

Wolverhampton Council have given an official date as to when the paddling pool will be open for business.
It began filling up on May 9 much to the excitement of local residents - many of whom remember splashing around there in their childhood.
It was first converted into a public paddling pool in 1934 when the Graham family, founders of the Express & Star, paid for the conversion of the pool.

This included the initial draining and lining of it with concrete panels before it was refilled, becoming what some referred to as 'Wolverhampton-by-the-sea'.

Now, families travel from all over the Black Country for the chance to splash about, get out the inflatables and have a good time.
However, Wolverhampton Council has asked people to resist the temptation of jumping in, as they are still conducting water tests.
They hope to open it for full use on Saturday (May 24) - though the Met Office forecasts it to be a drizzly day.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "The pool has been filled and treated, and tests to ensure the water quality meets the required standards for bathing have been sent to a lab to be checked. During this time people are asked not to use the pool and signs advising this are located around the site.

"As long as the water quality meets the appropriate standards, the pool is expected to open from Saturday (May 24).”
Back in 2023, signs tied to fencing around the pool urged people not to go in - many decided to flout this warning in favour of cooling off on the scorching summer days.
Despite the sudden thunderstorms, the upcoming bank holiday weekend will see sunshine and temperatures of 16 degrees on Sunday and Monday.
