Wolverhampton choir celebrate two year anniversary and hunt for members for summer show

A Wolverhampton choir is celebrating it's two year anniversary, and recruiting for their upcoming summer show.

Anthem Voices Choir

Anthem Voices is a singing establishment based in Wednesfield, offering two community choirs, school workshops and private tuition.

The group started with just one pupil back in 2016, and has grown to now have more than 60 members, who come together weekly to sing and enjoy an evening of fun and music.

During these past two years, Anthem have performed all over the West Midlands. The choir's last show of 2017 was a sell-out charity concert, which saw over £1000 go to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

Offering a range of genres and styles, Anthem offers the local people of Wolverhampton a place to boost confidence and share their love for singing.

Elise Evans, Musical Director at Anthem, is over the moon to be celebrating this milestone, saying: "It’s a real team effort and its magical to see members join us week in and week out.

"We are always welcoming new members to our two community choirs, Anthem Youth Choir and Anthem Voices Choir.

"With reasonable and affordable fees, fun and friendly music tutors and a great location, Anthem prides itself on offering the best vocal tuition for the City of Wolverhampton."

The group's summer show is set to take place at Sedgley's Dormston Mill Theatre on June 15.

Ahead of the show, the group are looking to recruit members to both their youth and voices choir.

Youth members must be aged between eight and 18 years, voices is suitable for those aged 18+.

The groups practice on Thursday evenings at Wednesfield Methodist Church on Wood End Road.
