Sir Rod Stewart lived up to his superstar reputation as he wowed the crowds in Birmingham.

Bringing decades of experience and sparkle to the stage at the Barclaycard Arena, he gave his adoring fans another couple of nights to remember over the weekend.

The 71-year-old – yes, Rod Stewart is 71! – was performing two shows at the venue as part of his From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits 2016 arena tour.

He was also joined by his 29-year-old daughter Ruby Stewart who was part of the support act from Sisterhood.

As one of the best-selling artists of all time, having shifted more than 100 million records worldwide, Rod has no problem selling tickets amid a string of timeless hits such a Sailing, Maggie May and Baby Jane.

Fans of ages took to social media following the concerts in Birmingham to thank him for an 'amazing' show.

Sir Rod had six consecutive number one albums in the UK, and his tally of 62 UK hit singles includes 31 that reached the top 10, six of which gained the number one position.

It still seems odd calling him 'Sir Rod' but with so many achievements – not to mention great songs – he truly is rock royalty.
