Edward Bair, 72, who is one of the stars of Heathrow Airport's festive advert hails from Walsall.

The Teddy bear, who travels with his wife off a flight to the airport, has been catapulted to fame since the advert first aired this month.

So far the ad, which is called Coming Home For Christmas, has amassed more than three million views on YouTube and almost four hundred comments.

The advert shows the couple, dressed in smart hats and coats, disembark the plane before waddling hand in hand through the airport.

They are helped by the mobility assistant driving a mistletoe-laden buggy to the terminal and share a sneaky kiss.

They then travel through passport control, where a close up on the male bear's passport reveals he was born in Walsall.

The bears both tentatively hop on the escalator together, navigate the baggage reclaim area, after putting on their spectacles, and with the help of staff, pull their suitcases off the carousal. They then make their way through duty free, where the male bear topples over a tower of shortbread, much to his wife's displeasure, before the pair waddle through the arrivals gate.

They spend a nerve-racking few moments looking for their relatives through the crowds of people and suitcases, before they are spotted by their grandchildren. As soon as they catch a glimpse of their grandchildren, the bears transform into their human counterparts, dressed in the same clothes as the bears, revealing that the advert actually showed the elderly couple's experience of the airport.

The ad follows this year's Christmas adverts for John Lewis, which features Biff the Boxer dog.
