The Frankfurt Christmas Market has now officially opened in Birmingham city centre - marking the 50th anniversary of the city having some form of festive German event each year.

Video journalist Juliet Hounam spoke to shoppers yesterday, to see what they made of the market:

The event will now run until December 29 - with the exception of Christmas Day - from 10am to 9pm.

The current market has taken place in Birmingham for more than 15 years.
