Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market opens today - as city hopes for record visitors
Visit Birmingham is predicting a record number of festive visitors this year.
The Christmas is Bigger in Birmingham campaign gets under way with the opening of the Frankfurt Christmas Market and switching on of the lights in the city centre today.
The campaign is led by the city's official tourism programme Visit Birmingham with Retail Birmingham and travel partner London Midland.
Emma Gray, director of marketing and communications at Visit Birmingham, said: "Each year, Birmingham's show-stopping festive offer boosts the region's visitor economy as it draws interest not just domestically but from across the world.
"Working in collaboration with partners throughout the city, our campaign aims to capitalise on this interest, capturing the imagination of potential visitors far and wide.
There's no better place for a festive break."
