The singer/songwriter founded the chart-topping indie rock band The Icicle Works, who enjoyed success in the UK and USA with Top 40 hits like Love Is A Wonderful Colour and Whisper To A Scream (Birds Fly).
He pursued a critically-acclaimed solo career and earned a Mercury Music Prize nomination for his songs of warmth, humour, cynicism and grandeur.
His latest release is Krugerrands, primarily containing re-recordings of previously released tracks that according to Ian 'were either previously stripped to basics for their original recordings or done using drum machines and other such toys'.
He will showcase them at Birmingham's Hare and Hounds on Tuesday for his adoring fans.
