Conker contest in Bridgnorth proves big hit
Customers went head to head in the first-ever conker tournament held at a pub in Bridgnorth.

It went so well at The White Lion that it will now be an annual event.
Dan Reardon, assistant manager at the pub on West Castle Street, said there were about 10 people of all ages entered into the competition for a chance to win a £25 bar tab.
Mr Reardon said: "The winners of each round go through to the next round until the two finalists play for the prize. They're playing one at a time so everyone can watch each other. You get your conker on a piece of string then you get three swings each at each other's conkers, taking it in turns, until one of the conkers is smashed.
"They keep the conkers throughout the game, so after a couple of goes the conkers may be a bit dented." Those taking part ranged from their early 20s to their late 60s. Mr Reardon said: "There was cheering as people watched on with a pint in hand, gathered around the end of the bar.
"It's just a bit of fun for those standing around drinking beer, it's brought in a bit of a crowd.
"We like to have lots of different activities when we can for the regulars and to entertain the punters."
