Visitors turned out in the droves to the city's West Park to enjoy hot air balloons, extreme stunt riders, fairground rides and food and trade stalls.

The two-day event was hosted by one of the Black Country's oldest fairground families - The Harry Jones Company.

The company, based in Thompson Avenue, Parkfields, has been providing fairground entertainment in the Black Country for more than a century.

Harry Jones, whose great grandfather started the business with a simple coconut shy in 1893, said: "

The event has gone really well. It has been fantastic and we've been really lucky with the weather, we are definitely going to be holding it next year.

"The hot air balloons were most probably the highlight."

And he added it was hoped to make the event a regular fixture in the city's annual events calendar.

"It's not for he short term, we will be doing this long term and holding it next year.

"We are happy that we've worked very closely with the council and we have done it for the people of Wolverhampton."

As well as the hot air balloons, from Wickers World, based in Great Haywood, visitors also enjoyed entertainment from tribute acts Only One Direction, Rihanna Fully Loaded and Beyonce Queen B.
