Louis Briggs, 14, and Tom Barras, 15, known together as Guitar Cubed, have been asked to join the event, organised by the Mayor of London, on July 23 and 24.

It will build on last year's National Busking Day, with some of the world's most talented and respected street performers across the globe invited to join in.

Louis and Tom will be performing around their home town on the Saturday and on The George's balcony in Low Town during the Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm.

Tom said: "We were rather surprised to get an email from the Mayor of London's office asking us to be part of International Busking Day. They were aware of our 25 hour five minute busking world record and the amount it raised for The Shrewsbury Ark and they invited us to join mayor cities across the world."

Louis said: "When we looked at the list of cities taking part it's fantastic that our home town of Bridgnorth will be on that list."

Other cities include Adelaide, Barcelona, Berlin, Hong Kong, LA, London, Montreal, New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, and Rome.

Each city will be encouraging public and private landowners to open up spaces for street performance can entertain the public in return for a few coins in the hat.

Tom said: "We regularly busk in Bridgnorth and really enjoy it, lots of people come and have a chat with us and catch up on with what we are up to.
