Adele to come to Birmingham on first tour for four years
Superstar singer Adele will come to Birmingham next year as part of her first tour in four years.
She will perform at the Genting Arena on March 29 and 30 as part of her UK and European tour.
The singer, who released her much-anticipated third album, 25, last week, will also play dates in Dublin, Manchester, London and Glasgow. Adele's European dates will include Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Herning, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Zurich, Lisbon, Barcelona, Verona, Amsterdam, Paris and Antwerp.
The chart-topping 27-year-old, whose biggest hits include the soundtrack to Bond film Skyfall and Someone Like You, has been hailed as the artist to 'save the music industry' by newspaper critics, who greeted her new record warmly.
Tickets for the UK shows go on general sale at 9am on December 4.
The Oscar-winner is back in the public eye after the release of her latest album, which she has described as a 'whirlwind'.
Last week she joined Graham Norton for a world-exclusive TV special, performing classic tracks and songs from the new album, where she had said she had not decided whether to tour the new album, adding: "I want to make sure if I do it I can do it," but confirmed she would perform shows in England. The hour-long show, entitled Adele At The BBC, was the singer's first television performance since the 2013 Oscars when she performed Skyfall, winner of Best Original Song.
It was the first chance to hear some of her new tracks live. And during the show the singer, who has a three-year-old son Angelo with her partner Simon Konecki, told the host that she was so worried about living up to the success of 21 that she nearly quit music for good. Her Grammy and Brit Award-winning album has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide since it came out in 2011. Speaking to Graham Norton she said:
"I started to wonder, maybe 21 being so successful is enough for everyone? But I realised it wasn't enough for me. So, sorry, I'll make your ears bleed again."
