Sitar expert due to play at Wolverhampton's Arena Theatre
On Saturday sitar player Roopa Panesar will perform at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton.

Considered one of the finest sitar players to emerge on the UK's Indian music scene, Roopa Panesar is known for her unique and soulful style of playing and the incredible emotional depth of her sound.
Since training from the age of seven, under the great educationalist and sitar maestro Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE, Roopa's career has gone from strength to strength. She has taught the sitar for a number of years and is involved in a range of projects to inspire and educate the next generation of Indian classical musicians. Roopa also recently released her greatly anticipated first solo album 'Khoj'.
In this special concert, presented by Sampad South Asian Arts, Surdhwani and the Arena Theatre, Roopa will be accompanied by Gurdain Singh Rayatt, a tabla virtuoso who has performed at many prestigious music festivals including Saptak, Harivallabh and Darbar Festival.
Tickets cost £9 full price and £7 concessions and can be purchased online, at www.arenatheatre.info, in person at the Arena Theatre box office on Wulfruna Street in Wolverhampton, or by calling 01902 321321.
