The band have made a big noise during the past year, following the release of their debut album, An Awesome Wave, in May.

They won plaudits from NME who wrote: "Alt-J have messed with the formula just enough to make this a brilliantly disquiet debut."

The band is made up of Joe Newman, Gwil Sainsbury, Thom Green and Gus Unger-Hamilton.

They met at Leeds University in 2007, where Gus was studying English Literature and his band mates were studying fine art. They moved to Cambridge after graduating and then recorded their debut album in Brixton. An Awesome Wave showcased a range of musical styles including rolk, rock, bass, pop, hip-hop and indie rock.
