So after a mini heat wave hopefully you're all bronzed up and ready to tackle a pay-day weekend!

Personally I have another monster weekend in store as I head for my first festival experience of 2012 in Helsinki, Finland, as Hed Kandi host one of the main stages at The Summer Sound Festival.

Then it's straight to Leeds for Saturday night's antics at Phono alongside Carl Cowalik on the decks.

Huge thanks to all that have supported the Taste of Kandi Summer 2012 Album, that was mixed, produced and compiled by James Garrett and I – amazing to see it in the top 10 albums in the UK on iTunes right now!

Of course there's no better feeling than having it in your hands in good old-fashioned hard copy CD! I'm sure you can imagine my delight when I?popped into HMV in the Mander Centre, Wolverhampton, to see it front and centre on the shelves!

Right then let's have a look at where you should be heading out this weekend in the west midlands.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Martini's is a brand new night at Vogue in Walsall Each Friday bringing you a selection of house and urban across two rooms. Neat touches like 2-for-1 cocktails and shisha pipes on the open-air terrace makes this a great shout.

Arca Bar in the Arcadian Birmingham also has something new for your Friday night as they present Fervour. Resident DJs playing house, garage and commercial include Tom Shorterz, Michael Quiney and Davey Boy.

More bassline antics shenanigans continue at Monty's in Sedgely tonight for Bonanza. There are free shots on entry and entrance is also free all night for the ladies! DJs include Warp Addicts, Liam B and Craigyboy. Spin continues to pack them in every Friday at The Prince Albert in Wolverhampton and tonight should be no different. With them I'm sure taking advantage of the stunning open-air terrace. Across three areas of music include DJs Donkie Punch, Rue Jay and Rossco.

Moving into Saturday and over in Cannock a house legend is coming to town. Tall Paul makes an exclusive appearance for Slute at Bar Bank, Vault.

They will be taking over the whole venue playing across the spectrum of underground music will be DJs Nick Lunn, Fryer, Shaun Mynett and Dave Carrington.

Bringing you a fusion of oriental culture and western music styles is Yo! House at Revolution, Walsall. With a free sushi bar and custom made cocktail to boot this is well worth checking out. DJs include Toby Paton, Danny Brain and Dan Coker. Miss Moneypennys launches its monthly series of events at Mode in Worcester. Expect all things glam with a décor transformation and acts. DJs include Jim Shaft Ryan, Dr Love and Dean knight.

Utah Jazz descend on Wolverhampton promoting their Groove Therapy Album with a performance at The Slade Rooms. Providing us with some of the most forward thinking sounds of a generation this one will delight the more discerning music lover.

Ending the week on a huge high note on Sunday is The Wolverhampton and Black Country Pride Day Rave. Taking place at the Diamond Suite which is hosting its first event of this kind will be transformed with a massive sound system, staging and décor all headlined by K-Klass. Supporting DJs include Joe Campbell, Housejackerz and Rob Cook.

See you on the other side!
