So Christmas really is coming and while the goose might be getting fat, it doesn't mean it's time for you lot to start slacking off on your party-going duties.

'Tis the season after all and there's still time to hit the party scene ahead of – and after – the big day itself.

With Christmas Day falling on a Sunday, both tonight and tomorrow are expected to be busy ones for night owls and if you still haven't found your Christmas spirit then it's still not too late to banish the bah humbugs.

Over at Birmingham's Symphony Hall you can get into the festive mood with tomorrow's Christmas Eve Classic or Monday's Boxing Day Gala.

Both will feature traditional Christmas carols and tunes while at the second city's ICC, a stage production of the festive classic The Snowman is running until December 31.

In Wolverhampton, party-lovers can take advantage of a special club night at the Civic Hall tonight.

The North Street venue is combining its monthly Friday night party Cheeky Monkey with its weekly Saturday antics of Blast Off for this Christmas special.

Featuring tunes from four different decades across two rooms, admission is £4 on the door and if that's not enough, the first 200 guests will be treated to free curry and chips. The club night runs from 10pm until 3am.

And if that puts you in the party mood, then head back into Wolverhampton again on Tuesday when The Slade Rooms, in Broad Street, will play host to a nostalgic Dorchester Reunion party from 10pm until 2am.

The evening will feature a host of Britpop tunes from the once much-loved city nightspot that shut its doors in the 1990s.

Admission is £4 in advance or £5 on the door. For more details, see www.wolvescivic.com

Wolverhampton's Oceana nightclub is also open throughout the festive season with the weekly Friday Escape tonight, a Snow and Ice party tomorrow and its annual Boxing Day Special on Monday. For tickets and details, visit www.oceanaclubs.com/wolverhampton

Stafford's Couture nightclub is also ushering in the festive season with a Christmas party tonight that will feature a giant Santa's grotto and a selection of special drinks promotions.

The grotto will still be open tomorrow night when the club is offering free entry, free Santa hats and reindeer antlers and free champagne to anyone wearing fancy dress. See www.coutureleisure.com for more details.

If it's more family-friendly fun you're looking for over the coming days then don't forget it's panto season. At Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre you can catch stars including Linda Lusardi and Sam Kane in Snow White while at Birmingham Hippodrome, Brian Conley and Lynda Bellingham are starring in Cinderella. Stafford's Gatehouse Theatre is playing host to a run of Dick Whittington.

Happy party season!
