Chris de Burgh to play Birmingham NIA

Lady In Red singer Chris de Burgh has just announced a concert at Birmingham NIA for 2013. Yes, you read that right - 2013!

Chris de Burgh will play the NIA on Friday 26 April, 2013. Tickets priced £60, £50, £45, and £37.50, plus booking and transaction fees, are available from www.theticketfactory.com or 0844 338 8000.

The singer worked on a cover project, Footsteps, in 2009, a collection of songs that he felt had been huge personal inspirations throughout his career.

However, there were a number of other songs that Chris felt had had a "big impact" on him that he wanted to share. This led to the follow-up album, Footsteps 2, which will form the basis of the new tour. The album includes a number of songs that are close to Chris's heart including The Living Years by Mike & the Mechanics.

The singer said: "Music is the soundtrack to our own lives. These songs, at particular times in my life, were cornerstones. They were the footsteps, like stepping stones across the river that helped me on my way.

"I'm very much looking forward to going on tour in 2013 with Footsteps 2. We'll be performing quite a few songs from it, which I'm really excited about doing."
