So Midlanders, are you ready to rock? I'm sorry, I don't think you heard me – I said are you ready to rock?!

Well you had better be because the region is this week braced for an onslaught from some of the biggest names in the business – so be ready to raise your rock devil fingers.

The week is dominated by rock, with Status Quo's QuoFestive gig, Machine Head, Bryan Adams, Whitesnake, Def Leppard and Motley Crue all taking to a stage near you.

QuoFestive will hit the LG Arena tonight, with a seasonal show from Britain's best-loved rockers Status Quo alongside Roy Wood and Kim Wilde.

Meanwhile, Machine Head will headline Birmingham's NIA on Sunday on their The Eighth Plague tour. The band promise to lay waste to every city in their path and Birmingham – the undisputed home of metal – will be no exception.

The Eighth Plague tour is in support of the American heavy metal band's newest crushing album Unto The Locust.

Soft rocker Bryan Adams will bring his 20th Anniversary of the Waking Up The Neighbours Tour to the LG Arena on Sunday.

It follows the success of his Bare Bones solo acoustic tour last year and he will play tunes from his endless catalogue of anthemic hits including Cuts Like A Knife, Summer Of '69, Kids Wanna Rock, Can't Stop This Thing We've Started, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Heaven and Run To You.

Def Leppard and Motley Crue add to the heavy week of live music with a gig at the LG Arena on Tuesday in a line-up that will also feature Steel Panther. The bands are planning to air all of their hits during the triple-header.

A rocktastic week will be completed when Whitesnake return to Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Thursday. David Coverdale and co will thrill fans with tunes from their back catalogue.

Coverdale has even promised fans in Wolverhampton a special treat in the form of support act The Red, White and Blues who are joining Coverdale and co for just three of their UK tour dates. Tickets are still availale from www.wolvescivic.co.uk
