Thankfully, I reckon the worst is behind us with a pay weekend in touching distance and the festive season in sight and so I continue to bring you the best nights to venture out to in the West Midlands.

There are a few changes in Wolverhampton as Walkabout have a new look Friday night launching tonight. Paparazzi will feature three rooms of music, discounted drinks, new branding club décor, live dancers and performers – after all this effort, if you're in town be sure to check them out!

Whatever? at Gorgeous Bar continues to bring in new acts to the city with MC MAC performing live tonight with support from DJs Warren Paul, Chris Steele, Jay Woodzy and Big Steele.

For some urban manoeuvres head to Revolution in Walsall tonight for a BBC 1 Extra Party where basement hero Young Lion will headline. DJs in support include Davie D & Mossy plus they have several branded drinks at only £2 all night.

Then a change of plan for Couture in Stafford tonight as they have Inked which highlights their acceptance of tattoos at the venue plus the very best in the indie/alternative sound.

Looking to put the fun back into clubbing is Beyond at Bambu in Birmingham tonight where more than 20 DJs including Cause & Effect, Hannah Wants, Rue Jay and Omey & Orme will collide over two rooms of vocal, soulful and old school classics. They also have club artist Danny Bowen on site who will pretty much customize anything from your body parts to t-shirts!

Moving into Saturday and what is already looking like a shining light for Shropshire nightlife is Retro. They have moved to a bigger and better venue at the Vox in Telford centre and will continue their ethos of "No drama, just the music". DJs include Attison, Valentino, SteveO and Nimrod Randall.

It may well be safe to say that the preferred choice of music in the region at present is bassline and the Wildchild Crew will be embracing that at Code nightclub in Dudley. Davey Boy and Craigy Boy will be on hand to fire out the bombs and there are two-for-one offers on selected drinks before midnight.

One of the longest serving good-time clubs in the Midlands has definitely been Chic (Formerly Kudos) and they celebrate seven years of doing exactly that tomorrow. In true birthday style they'll have confetti cannons at the ready and all the usual visual treats.

DJs new and old are coming together and include Chris Deluxe, Benny Rich, Clinton Shaw, Mark Wright and Joe Hunt. Personally I'm back on the road this week as I head to Aberdare, Wales, tonight for Glamourhouse where James Garrett and I will be headlining.

Then it's a drop off at Birmingham airport for a flight to Zurich then a short-ish journey to Bern where I'll be performing for Hed Kandi at Liquid.

This is always a huge glam fest so I can't wait to get my groove on!

James and I have also had some great news this week – we had our first number one!

Our track Limitless, that featured Ben Smith on sax, topped the Progressive Download Charts and we thank everyone out there who supported it!

That's all for this week, have a great weekend guys and rave safe – see you on the other side!
