A personal letter from Dame Vera Lynn has brought delight to the group behind a musical to be staged in Cannock.
The original forces sweetheart wished them luck in their show Ensatainment.
Dame Vera's performances of We'll Meet Again and other 1940s classics gave the nation hope during the Second World War.
The singer, now 94, also sent her best wishes to the show's producer Jean Brown who has staged shows in the district for half a century.
Jean's grand-daughter Sarah Williams, 31, will sing the Dame Vera favourite White Cliffs of Dover in next month's show in Cannock.
She said: "We couldn't believe it – the letter has given us such a boost."
Sarah's mother Jane wrote to the showbiz legend.
Sarah said: "It's a lovely letter, and she also included a signed photograph."
Performers will take to the stage at The Prince of Wales Theatre in Church Street on October 7 and 8, starting at 7.30pm.
