Light House Cinema in Wolverhampton continues its prestigious opera season Summer at Glyndebourne with Don Giovanni on Sunday, July 31.

Glyndebourne's production of Mozart's Don Giovanni is a "white-knuckle rollercoaster ride" through the events of the last day of the Don.

Jonathan Kent's production, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, stars Gerald Finley as the philandering anti-hero and Luca Pisaroni as his long suffering servant Leporello. Also performing are Kate Royal, Anna Samuil and William Burden.

Set at a time of seismic social and cultural change Jonathan Kent's urgently propulsive production offers a rollercoaster ride through the events of the Don's last day as they unfold in and around Designer Paul Brown's magical "box of tricks" set.

As an unrepentant Don Juan continues to elude his earthly pursuers, other-worldly powers are forced to intervene, leading to a fire-and-brimstone climax that ranks among Mozart's most earth-shattering achievements.

Light House CEO Frank Challenger said, "Summer at Glyndebourne is the only way to see the sold out festival this year and, as we are the only cinema in the region to present this prestigious production, don't miss your opportunity to experience world class opera at a fraction of the price right here in Wolverhampton."

Don Giovanni is a revival of the 2010 Festival production and will be shown at Light House, on Sunday July 31, at 6pm. The season will conclude with The Turn of the Screw on Sunday August, 21, at 6pm. Tickets cost £18 adult/£12.50 under 15s from 01902 716055 or www.light-house.co.uk
