Irish Eyes were certainly smiling at the LG Arena last night as The Script celebrated St Patrick's Day in style with a record-breaking crowd.

The heaving arena was a sea of emerald green as fans welcomed the Irish pop rockers with a variety of Guinness hats, green wigs and shamrock festooned outfits.

The Script bounded onto stage with the rousing You Won't Feel a Thing followed by Talk You Down and then their first big hit, We Cry — haunting vocals yet a slightly urban feel.

The band took advantage of the hit-induced crowd exhilaration and quickly followed up with their current single, the catchy If You Ever Come Back. Energetic frontman Danny

O'Donoghue dominated the stage and the floor — running from side to side and often joining the crowd on the ground, getting up close and personal with his army of adoring female fans.

The pace continued through to the encore with For the First Time, eased a little with This is Love, then brought the night to a climax with the monster hit Breakeven.

When it comes to partying, this band wrote The Script and there is no-one I would rather enjoy the craic with again next St Patrick's Day.
