They have been at the centre of the music industry for more four decades but Roxy Music are showing no signs of letting up.

It has been more than a decade since the band last toured and led by Brian Ferry they returned to Birmingham in style last night.

A near packed LG Arena helped mark their 40th anniversary during a set of more than an hour-a-and-half.

Alongside guitarist Phil Manzanera, saxophonist Andy Mackay and drummer Paul Thompson they performed some of their less known tracks alongside long-standing favourites.

With backing singers, dancers and giant animations projected onto a screen the For Your Pleasure tour, taking its name after the 1973 album, had plenty to put on a spectacle.

It was no surprise that songs such as Do The Strand, Virginia Plain and Love Is The Drug were the tracks which really got their fans on their feet.

And it was towards the end where most of the classics came with Editions of You helping to get the healthy crowd well and truly rocking. On this evidence there is no doubt this long-running group is still a favourite around here.
