After weeks of silly pop songs, eccentric Black Country X Factor contestant Wagner Carrilho finally got to sing in his favoured opera style, a version of Carl Orff's O Fortuna, before launching into Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell.
It was ever-so-slightly out of time, he was surrounded by dummies, and apparently his "vampire accent" got in the way of his English — but Wagner sailed through the public vote once again.
Simon looked stunned and asked Louis what he had been drinking when he made the song choice.
He told Wagner: "People like you, and if they want to vote for you . . . well, I can always leave the country."
Cheryl was unable to bring herself to say anything but: "It was a bit out of time."
Smiling Wagner explained: "My vampire accent got mixed up with the English."
Pal Mandy Dhaliwal, said: "Forget X Factor — it's all about the W Factor now."
Meanwhile, so-so girlband Belle Amie started their performance in coffins and 24 hours later were truly dead and buried. But a fate worse than death now awaits the girls — an eternity at Butlins.
Their exit came as no big surprise, they never had enough talent or chutzpah.
Rebecca, One Direction and chavvy Cher all impressed. With Cher ditching the combat trousers and Argos jewellery long enough to deliver a teary version of Shakespeare Sister's Stay.
Wolverhampton lad Liam Payne smiled through an ankle injury with his One Direction band mates during Total Eclipse of the Heart, while Walsall student Treyc was kept waiting to learn that Relight My Fire had saved her for another week.
