Thousands of music fans are expected to descend on Staffordshire this weekend for an eighties' extravaganza.

A host of top stars will be perform at the Shugborough Estate, near Stafford, on Saturday.

Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, Rick Astley and Shrewsbury-born T'Pau singer Carol Decker, are among the stars on the bill.

Organisers have promised an evening of familiar hits from the performers, plus some unique collaborations between the artists on the programme.

The night is part of the estate's Summer Sessions weekend, which will also see Jools Holland take to the stage with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra on Sunday.

Both concerts will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks finale.

More than 8,000 fans have already snapped up the tickets, but more are available.

Spokeswoman Corinne Caddy said: "The organisers are really happy with how sales are going.

"The response we've had from people all over the county has been brilliant.

"We thought it would be popular but it's been even better than expected.

"To get some of the performers that are going to be at the Summer Sessions night is a huge coup for us and we're very excited about the programme."

Tickets for both concerts are £32.50, with a discount for children aged up to 15. Under-fives go free. Families can bring chairs and picnics.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0845 459 8900 or from the Garrick Theatre on 01543 412110.

Groups of more than 10 adults get a 10 per cent discount if they book with the promoter, IML Concerts, on 01603 660444 or online at www.imlconcerts.co.uk
