Opening date for new Little Civic bar

A new live music venue will open in Wolverhampton next week.

The Little Civic building in North Street is undergoing a refit and is due to open on Friday, with Midlands rockers Hollywood Tease topping the bill.

The venue closed in June after Wolverhampton's City Council 10-year lease came to an end.

But new lease-holder Olimax UK say it will remain as a music venue, with a brand new look.

Olimax boss Tom Kearney said the building will reopen under its existing name, despite the council announcing it was relocating the Little Civic to the former C4 club in Broad Street at the end of this month.

The council is in discussions with the building's owner over the sought-after name. If the North Street venue is successful in keeping it, the relocated music club will have to be rebranded.
