Bands are rockin' for charity

Four Midlands rock bands will be heading north next month to take part in the BoobAid 2009 charity concert for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Dante FoxFour Midlands rock bands will be heading north next month to take part in the BoobAid 2009 charity concert for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The event is being held at the Klondyke club, in Royston, Barnsley, on Saturday, October 3, and will feature Midlands melodic rockers Dante Fox and Tara's Secret, as well as sleaze rockers Hollywood Tease and Birmingham hard rock band Kinn. Also on the bill are Barnsley-based MissDemeanor.

Tara's SecretThe event starts at 5pm, running through to midnight, and includes a raffle and rock DJ.

Admission is free from 5pm until 7pm, with a voluntary donation to be made at the door, after that the admission charge is £2.

The organisers says that almost 41,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK alone.

KinnMore than 1,000 women die from the disease every month, and, approximately one in nine women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
