Blur have finally announced the date of their much-anticipated reunion gig at Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Blur have finally announced the date of their much-anticipated reunion gig at Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

The band's website www.blur.co.uk has announced that they will play a preview gig at the Civic on Wednesday June 24, 2009, as a warm-up to their headline appearance at Glastonbury and their two hugely anticipated shows at London's Hyde Park.

Tickets for Wolverhampton will initially be available from the Midland Box Office in Queens Square, Wolverhampton. Members of blur.co.uk will have access to a pre-sale though the site ahead of the box office on-sale, limited to two tickets per booking.

Tickets will then go on general sale from 9am this Friday, April 24, priced at £32.50 subject to booking fee and are limited to four tickets per booking.

Blur last played Wolverhampton on November 26, 2003, at the Civic Hall following the release of Think Tank.

Graham Coxon last played Wolverhampton with Blur on October 8, 1993, at the Wulfrun Hall with their sophomore album Modern Life Is Rubbish.

Back in December Blur's singer Damon Albarn, said: "We've got lots of people who've been very close to us for a very long time who emanate from the area."

Blur's manager Chris Morrison; "Blur are playing a limited number of unique shows this summer. Graham hasn't played Wolverhampton with Blur for over 15 years and they're really enjoying rehearsals and looking forward to playing to their fans again."

Formed in Colchester in 1989, Blur have recorded seven studio albums and had a string of Top 10 singles including Parklife, Girls And Boys, Country House and Beetlebum.

Their last album, Think Tank was released in 2003. Graham Coxon last joined Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Damon Albarn onstage for a Royal Festival Hall performance in 2000.
