The Cubans

City-born and bred band The Cubans are a young and energetic quartet who, at the tender ages of 18, have become known for their edgy mix of indie, rock and ska.

Where are they from? Wolverhampton

Who are they? Chris Bennett (vocals and rhythm guitar)

Mike Bucknall (lead guitar and backing vocals)

Matt Guy (drums and percussion)

Tom Kearney (bass guitar and backing vocals)

What's their sound? The Cubans take their individual influences from a plethora of greats, including Dire Straights, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and The Specials.

What sort of venues do they play? The Little Civic, Barfly and The Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Anything else? The band have been very busy indeed, gaining rave reviews in their local press and even Central News. The boys were also chosen as one of twenty up-and-coming bands from around the world to perform on a compilation album for Lakeland Records, and fans of Stoke FC will recognise them as the featured artist on their forthcoming End of Season DVD. Catch them on 15th November at the Little Civic where they'll be headlining with the Arcadian Kicks.
