Rainbow Dog Rescue, an all breed rescue charity that take in as many dogs as possible, have opened up a new shop at 12 Windmill Bank, Wombourne.

The money generated by the shop will go towards paying vet bills and providing care for dogs the charity look after while they try to find them a permanent home.

Trustee for the charity, Angelina Patel, said: "We hope people will warm to us and use our shop because of the cause we support.

"We work so hard to try and find a loving home for our dogs and we will never turn one down.

"As a charity, we rely entirely on donations to help us achieve what we want to do for the dogs."

Currently there are seven volunteers working in the shop, but Mrs Patel said more are needed to help across all areas of the charity's work.

She also urged people wanting to adopt a dog to come forward.

She said: "We always welcome more volunteers, that is especially true now we have moved into a bigger place.

"Everyone who helps does a wonderful job and we have a lovely group.

"Their work ties in with making the lives of those who do adopt easier, we pay for all medication and provide the food for our dogs who are adopted."

Mrs Patel also reserved praise for Dr Janos Dorogi, who works with Rainbow Dog Rescue alongside his work at Cavan Vets in Wolverhampton and volunteer Catherine Hallam.

She said: "Dr Dorogi does absolutely amazing work for us and has saved the life of so many dogs in need.

"I would also like to thank him for opening up our shop, we have a great relationship with him and it was a nice gesture.

"Our volunteer Catherine Hallam is a great example of why this charity works, she is an angel and so dedicated to helping dogs, just like the rest of us."
