THERE is so much myth, hokum and pure cobblers circulating on the internet that I tend not to mention it, writes Peter Rhodes.

But I must make an exception for the Pin-number tale which appears to be doing the rounds once again.

This is the one that suggests if a robber forces you to withdraw money from a cash machine, you simply enter your Pin number backwards (thus 1234 becomes 4321) and "unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the location."

Fat chance.

When did you last see the police "immediately dispatched" anywhere?

The Pin-number yarn is an urban myth. Believe it at your peril.
