Life, by definition, is unfair. Some people drop dead suddenly while others become frail and need long-term care.

Your house is an investment . If you need care then you should be prepared to turn your investments into cash.

I have never understood why taxpayers should be expected to subsidise the care of property owners, who are often wealthier than them, in order that the entire estate can be passed on to the children, the godson or the local cats' home.
