A new apprenticeship scheme is giving five students in Stafford the chance to become fully qualified.
Stafford and Rural Homes is working in partnership with Stafford College to create employment and learning opportunities for trainee plumbers, electricians, bricklayers and other construction apprentices, aged between 17 and 19, through its Learning Academy.
One of the first students to benefit is 18-year-old Hakam Ghatoray, from Stone, who will work with SARH for the next year as an apprentice electrician.
"This apprenticeship means the world to me and I am very grateful to be given this opportunity. I look forward to working alongside the Repairs First team and learning as much as I can," he said.
Fellow students Jack Brown, 18, and Zack Fox, 19, have joined SARH as apprentice carpenters, 19-year-old Jordan Abbotts is doing a bricklaying apprenticeship and Kieran Peake, 17, is working as an apprentice plumber.
