Thousands more jobs were available in Staffordshire and hundreds in Walsall in February to April compared to the same period last year, a report revealed today. The areas were listed in the top three places for recruiting in the West Midlands.

Thousands more jobs were available in Staffordshire and hundreds in Walsall in February to April compared to the same period last year, a report revealed today. The areas were listed in the top three places for recruiting in the West Midlands.

According to the new report by Working Links, in Staffordshire there was a 51 per cent rise in vacancies from a monthly average of 4,207 to 6,362 this year.

Walsall also had a 36 per cent rise with a monthly average which rose from 1,338 to 1,820. The report also revealed less job openings in Sandwell in February to April this year.

The average monthly number of vacancies was 1,874, dropping slightly to 1,843 this year. In the West Midlands, the number of construction jobs soared from a monthly average of 849 in the same period for 2010 to 1,643 this year.
