New jobs are to be created at a hotel near the M6 in Walsall which being extended under an £800,000 redevelopment project to cope with rising demand for tourist accommodation.

New jobs are to be created at a hotel near the M6 in Walsall which being extended under an £800,000 redevelopment project to cope with rising demand for tourist accommodation.

Eight new posts will be added at Premier Inn, in Bentley Road North, when the building work is completed next month in a move aimed to boost the area's tourism and leisure economy.

The company said an extra eight rooms are being built at the site due to an ever-increasing demand for rooms at the premises in the grounds of the Bentley Green Restaurant off the A454 Black Country Route's Anson Junction.

The accommodation is scheduled to open to the public on June 27. As a result of the extension the new jobs will be created in the reception and housekeeping teams.

General manager of Premier Inn Walsall Sian Hobbs says: "We are delighted to be bringing more rooms to the existing Premier Inn.
